How Jewelry Has Given Me Confidence

I am going to be super transparent. I have major depressive disorder. I also have bad anxiety. I’m medicated. I’ve had some really down times in my life. And…I don’t like the way I look.

However, there are things that help me get through these dark thoughts to be a mostly happy, positive person.

I spend time with my family

I hang out with friends

I pet my fur babies

I love going to farmer’s markets and

I really love selling jewelry

I had always said I would NEVER be in an MLM and Park Lane isn’t like that, but I will get into that in a later blog post 🙂

But, I have noticed how much confidence I have when I wear jewelry. I saw a quote once that was said by Coco Chanel,

“ Dress like you are going to meet your worst enemy today”

And  I thought that was so badass. Why shouldn’t I wear my accessories like armor? That’s one of the first things people look at when they see you in person. On days where I am feeling vulnerable, anxious or down, I just put on another piece of jewelry on top of what I have on and it is a definite mood booster!

I feel confident and powerful when I have a lot of jewelry that goes perfect with the outfit that I am wearing at that time.

I also think of jewelry as a way to express yourself. Not just show you may be fashionably advanced, but also show your true personality and emotions. According to Cosmeclat in April 2023 (LinkedIn):

“Expressing emotions Jewelry can also be a way to express our emotions and communicate how we feel. For example, wearing a sentimental piece of jewelry can remind us of a special memory or person and evoke positive emotions. Wearing bold and expressive jewelry can communicate confidence, while wearing delicate and understated pieces can communicate a sense of calm and tranquility”

Even though my newer jewelry aren’t family heirlooms, their color and design may remind me of something in my past. They also accentuate my heirlooms as well.

In conclusion, I feel braver and have more confidence with myself when I wear jewelry. I feel that I am “put together” and that, in turn, makes me feel more powerful. If I had a high paying job interview, I would definitely pick out my jewelry first and match my outfit to those accessories.

Park Lane has an amazing selection of high quality jewelry for a very reasonable price.
